The Breast Augmentation has become increasingly popular over the past few years. Although this is a straightforward surgical procedure, some in-depth discussion between surgeon and patient is always required. This is why a consultation with Dr Abel Mounir (Manchester) will include a very full and frank appraisal of individual's suitability, as well as review the risks and benefits of the Breast surgery in general.

The best candidates for breast enlargement surgery are:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Not pregnant or nursing (at least 6 months after nursing)
  • Healthy physically and mentally
  • Unhappy with size of them Breast
  • Realistic in their expectations
  • Seeking breast enlargement for the first time

Generally, the breast augmentation cosmetic procedure is performed under general, and takes about one hours to be done. A Silicone implant is then placed under the breast tissue or under the muscle after an incision is made in the breast crease. The incision is usually 4 to 5 cm long. Depending on the surgeon's recommendation and your breast anatomy, the implantation of the silicone prosthesis as well as the positioning of it, will differ according to each patient.

Breast augmentation is usually the most rewarding cosmetic surgery treatment. Clearly woman's self-esteem could be improved greatly. Breast enhancement procedure existed since the beginning of the twentieth century; breast augmentation involves the implantation of a silicone prosthetics in the breast either under the breast tissue, above the pectoral muscle, or under the pectoral muscles. Subglandular implantation (infront of the muscle) was the original method used in breast enlargement surgery.

The beauty of the female breast is often defined by its shape and firmness. Usually, women who are self-conscious and unhappy with their breast shape and size due to different reasons such as volume loss after pregnancy, genetics, or following other breast surgery, do seek breast enhancement. Indeed, breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to increase the size of the breast. Our experience has shown that it is one of the most successful and rewarding cosmetic operations done at the Centre for cosmetic surgery.

Breast enlargement, like any cosmetic surgical treatment, is invasive. Performed on an outpatient basis under general anaesthesia, it is important that you prepare for the procedure by following the specific instructions outlined by your plastic surgeon at The Centre for cosmetic surgery during your consultation.

Women who undergo a breast enlargement procedure prior to surgery need to be examined by a doctor. Indeed it is important to determine whether their mental and physical condition meet specific expectations outlined by the British association for plastic surgeons (BAAPS). Following the breast augmentation procedure at Centre for cosmetic surgery, the mental state of patients, which includes personal happiness and self-perception, generally improves considerably.

Botox ®, Vistabel®, Dysport®

Botox® is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world. Botox® is only the brand name for a botulin toxin type A. In England, Botox® It is also called Vistabel and Dysport. About sixty years ago research have shown that very small injections of botulin toxin type A could be used to decrease overactive muscle activity. In the late eighties the company Allergan got approval from the F.D.A. and gave their drug the name Botox. The cosmetic use of botox came in 2002, when its cosmetic benefits were established. Now, Botox® is more popularly known for it’s non-surgical cosmetic action.
