Why do you use Mentor Silicone Implants?
I have been performing breast augmentation and uplift surgery for the last 20 years. I have used all different types of breast implants, and my experience and results are that Mentor implants have a lower rate of capsular contracture and rippling, especially when I use ultra-high profile. Motiva and B-lite are not FDA approved, and this is why I am waiting for the five years’ review before offering these implants to my patients.
When do I need a redo Uplift?
This is one of the most difficult questions. The durability or the lasting of your cosmetic result will depend on different parameters, including skin quality. Also, during your initial consultation, Dr. Mounir will warn you that weight loss and pregnancy will affect your cosmetic outcome negatively and massively.
What are the side effects of augmented mastopexy, and how long will they last?
Swelling and Bruising are normal side effects of the surgery, but these symptoms will resolve after one to two weeks.
When would I be completely healed?
Depending on the complexity of the surgery and on whether your implants were placed over the muscle or under, usually, it takes about six months for the muscle tissue healing to complete.
How long would it take for my scars to heal, and would I have nice scars?
The scar healing process can take up to 12 months, and every patient is different and heals at a different pace. Scars are beyond the surgeon’s control, and this is why Dr. Mounir will ask you if you have any previous surgical scars to help predict your future scars. If you have already experienced hypertrophic scars, Dr. Mounir usually will advise you not to proceed with the surgery.
